Julius Caesar was arguably the most influential Roman General in history. He was the Robinhood of his era. He conqured unimaginable amounts of land for Rome and sent a fortune back home to the Roman people. However, despite all of his actions and sacrifices, the senate wanted Caesar stopped. Do you think it was right of the senate and Pompey to try to destroy Caesar and his army? What were the senate's motivations behind their decisions? Did Caesar really go too far?

What Happened at Work?

Narration involves explaining events in the order that they happened. Pretend that you are currently working in your chosen field. Your supervisor is leaving early for the day and is leaving things in your capable hands. He asks you to write a brief report about the day's events before going home for the evening. Provide a small portion of that report.

Using Examples
Writing using illustration means using specific examples to clarify a point. We use examples every day. When discussing your day with a friend, you use examples to make your story more interesting and vivid. There are many ways to use examples in your writing: you can use a series of examples or an extended example.
1. When will you use illustration in your career?
2. Why would it be important to use detailed examples in your career?

Help with Paper
Career Goals

We all have goals. Some goals are simple to achieve, like show up for class on time. While some goals are more challenging to reach, like graduate at the top of my class. There are different types of goals, and the types of goals set by many college students are career goals. Career goals reveal aspirations about what type of field people want to go into; the amount of money a person hopes to earn; and the ability to be independent and comfortable. These are just a few career goals that a college students sets while preparing for their future. But what about you? You are unique. At least you might think that your situation is different from everyone else's; let's see how you and your classmates respond to the following questions.
What are your career goals, and what are ways that you plan on achieving those goals? What are some things that are holding you back from reaching your career goals? How did you come about setting these goals for yourself? Discuss the similarities and differences between your career goals and those of your classmates. Think about why they might be different. Think about why they might be similar.
And then the big question: How can we help each other to be successful?
